Foot and Ankle Surgery
Certified Foot and Ankle Surgeon
OFFERING OPTIONS FOR SURGICAL CARE OF FEET AND ANKLES
Some foot and ankle surgeries are relatively minor procedures that can be performed in the office. Dr. Elizabeth Hinton, DPM is board certified in foot and ankle surgery.
In-office procedures might include wart excision, ingrown toenail surgery, and small procedures for hammertoes. Our procedures often involve only a small incision and sometimes do not require stitches. Because there is less bleeding, there is a reduced chance of infection and a shorter recovery time.
Our Camp Hill office offers in-office X-ray technology.

DR. ELIZABETH HINTON, DPM HAS SURGICAL PRIVILEGES AT GRANDVIEW SURGERY CENTER
Some of our foot care surgeries are more demanding and will require you to undergo anesthesia at the surgery center or the hospital. These may include the implantation of screws or wires and may require you to be in a cast or removable cast walker for a while.
It is important to discuss with Dr. Elizabeth Hinton, DPM any questions you might have regarding your particular procedure and the recovery period. If you are afraid that you will forget your questions, write them down on a piece of paper and bring them to your appointment.
BE PREPARED TO DISCUSS YOUR MEDICAL HISTORY
Dr. Elizabeth Hinton, DPM will need to know your complete medical history and any medications you take, including herbal supplements. This is very important because some medications and vitamins can cause excessive bleeding during surgery.
Make sure to discuss any allergies to medications or adverse side effects with your doctor to ensure your recovery is ideal. If you regularly see a cardiologist, pulmonologist, nephrologist, or rheumatologist, then you may be required to undergo further testing prior to your surgical procedure.
